Assistant Accountant (1 Position)

Job Description

Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) through CDC/PEPFAR, Immunization and Vaccine Development Program (IVD) and Global Fund Grants, are looking for enthusiastic, creative and energetic individuals whom will work under contractual agreement to fill the following vacant positions:-

NATIONAL TUBERCULOSIS AND LEPROSY PROGRAM (NTLP)

  1. JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (1 POSITION)

Location: Dodoma

Reporting to: Programme Accountant

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare project payment, record receipts and keep accounting records.
  2. Assist in posting business transactions into the system and preparation of financial statements.

iii. Respond to audits queries as may be required from time to time.

  1. Maintain financial data into a comprehensive accounting database system.
  2. Facilitate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  3. Facilitate data for monthly bank reconciliation.

vii. Ensure appropriate controls built in to the banking arrangements, including proper authorization of disbursements, double signatures on cheques and transfers, use of account payee cheques.

viii.Maintain staff advance/ imp rest ledger.

  1. Ensure all financial procedures used for the management of NTLP funds adhere to the procedures outlined
  2. Any other duties as assigned by the Programme Accountant

 Experience and Qualifications

  1. Diploma in Finance/Accounting
  2. Experience and knowledge in Project Management Skills and risk Management.

iii. Knowledge of legal requirement and control is an added advantage.

  1. Excellent Communication Skills
  2. Age limit: 50 years

 Terms of engagement: 3 months contract – renewable (Renewable based on Performance and availability of funds).

  5. e) National ID. iv. Attaching copies of the following certificates is strictly not accepted
  6. f) Form IV and form VI results slips;
  7. g) Testimonials and all Partial transcripts.
  8. h) Applicants employed in the Public Service
  9. i) Should route their application letters through their respective employers.
  10. Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts.
  11. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania

(NECTA) and National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).

vii. Certificates from Foreign Universities should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).

viii. Applicants with special needs/case (disability) are supposed/advised to indicate.

  1. Presentation of forged certificates and other information will necessitate to legal action.
